Entering inside a freshly painted room with enough sunlight seeping through the windows gives that warm welcome. It makes us want to call dibs on it. We all want that homey, neutral and balanced aura in our own personal space; a place where we feel enclosed and safe without having to spend so much.
Make your room your own ideal hangout place. Start getting creative. Plan out what you want to do. What are the things that would make you stay longer in your room? May it be the space, color, furniture or theme, you have to carefully choose them. It’s your space, your style. If you’re doing this the first time, no need to worry. Here are a few things you’d want to consider.
Room color
The internet is the best place to check for many color tones you’d want to have for your room. If you have a theme you wish to follow then it wouldn’t be a problem. Some would choose the color first when renovating their rooms. There are colors that give that feel-good mood for some. Most of the time blue represents the sky or the ocean, yellow for a field of daffodils or the sun, while some go for red for some dramatic effect whether day or night time.
Don’t overcrowd
Put your ideas into writing or better yet, have a layout. Know the specific furniture you need before actually buying or restructuring your old furniture to give you less hassle. It also saves you more time and effort. However, when you plan your furniture, make sure to not overcrowd your room. Too much furniture would make your room tighter and smaller. Know where to put them. It’s best to set the proximity of the furniture from each other. This would also help give your room a breather.
Have organizers/utilize space
This is where your creativity comes in. When redecorating your room, always have a personal or unique touch. You can either search the web for some awesome ideas or simply, experiment and make your own. It’s not just referring to reusing and recycling materials but it’s also being creative. Make handmade drawers, organizers, cabinets or better yet secret compartments. This would definitely give your room that “wow” factor.
Indoor plants
Indoor plants help give that eco-friendly environment. Aside from that, you benefit from them too. There are different types of indoor plants. You need to know which is which. Putting whatever plant you think is cute or manageable is fine but not all plants bloom indoors. Some need sunlight, insects, birds and other factors to make them grow. Also when deciding which indoor plant to have, make sure they fit the space, whether you put them on your shelf, floor, wall or just have them hanging.
Ventilation
One important thing you should remember when wanting your room to feel fresh and clean at all times is having proper ventilation. Leave your windows slightly open so air from outside could come in.
